
August 21 – Brazil’s iconic Maracanã will host the opening match and the final of the 2027 Women’s World Cup, FIFA announced Thursday.
Brazil, top seed in Group A as hosts, play the opener on June 24, before the July 25 final at the Rio stadium, which will also stage a semi-final.
Eight host cities will each hold at least seven matches, and the Maracanã becomes only the third stadium to host both a men’s and women’s World Cup final,
