Serie A renews with DAZN for UK market

August 21 – Serie A has completed its UK and Ireland broadcast arrangements for 2026/27, renewing with DAZN just days before the season kicks off on August 22.

Under the deal, seven of every 10 matchday fixtures will air exclusively on DAZN in the UK, a slight dip from the eight shown last season, DAZN’s first covering Serie A in the market.

It’s one of the platform’s first significant moves into broadcasting top tier overseas football in Britain, complementing an existing UK picture that also features TNT Sports and, newly, the BBC.

The timing chimes with a growing English presence in Italy. This summer, John Stones and Djed Spence made the move to Serie A, joining a contingent that already includes Milan’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fikayo Tomori, Como’s Trevoh Chalobah and Juventus’ Lloyd Kelly.

Seven Scots are contracted to Serie A clubs too, giving British audiences plenty of local interest.

The BBC’s involvement is notable, committing to one match per game week, with 19 on the Gaelic language BBC Alba and 19 more streamed with English commentary on iPlayer.

DAZN Group chief executive Shay Segev said: “This renewal marks our continued investment in premium football content and the best viewing experience for fans,” adding it “further strengthens DAZN’s position as the global home of sport.”

That ‘global home’ keeps expanding. In the last day alone, DAZN confirmed domestic rights to Spain’s Liga F, and Serie A this week struck a three-year deal with UAE based Begin.
