August 20 – Malaysian club giants Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) are closing in on a world record for the longest unbeaten run in domestic league history.
A win on Friday August 21 against Kuching City FC in the opening match of the 2026/27 Malaysian Super League season, will mean the Southern Tigers will have gone 109 league matches unbeaten, beating the current world record set by Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas in 1994. JDT’s unbeaten run began in April 2021.
